It all started with Geoff Ross sitting on a plane across the US in 1996. Absolut Blue Vodka

Introduced in 1879 as an absolutely pure vodka which used a new distilling process called rectification. A pure grain vodka distilled in Ahus in southern Sweden. An alcoholic base was made from the best locally grown wheat grain, continuous distillation produced a high strength spirit. The spirit was filtered through charcoal leaving it pure. The vodka was kept in stainless-steel tanks so flavours remained neutral. The spirit was diluted with pure water to 40% alcohol before bottling. Smooth and light-bodied with some licorice flavours.

Absolut Citron Vodka

Stolichnaya Russian Vodka

Stolichnaya has its origins in the Moscow State Wine Warehouse No. 1 which was opened in 1901 by the authorities to ensure higher quality vodka production. This vodka starts with wheat grains. Artesial water from the Kaliningrad region is added to these grains to begin the fermentation which takes about 60 hours. Once fermentation is complete the resulting liquid is distilled four times to a strength of 96.4% ABV. This spirit is then diluted to bottling strength with more artesial well water which ultimately gives the vodka its smoothness. It is then filtered through quartz, sand, activated charcoal, and finally through woven cloth.

Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka

Zubrówka has been manufactured in the region of the contemporary Polish-Belarusian border since the 16th century, and by 18th century was one of the favourite raw drinks of the nobility and the peasantry alike. However it was banned in America since the late 1970's because of the medicinal properties of the grass, but in 1999, Polish distilleries introduced reformulated US-export versions of the product, sometimes using artificial flavours and colours it can now be savoured once again through America. Bison Gross Vodka is produced through a closely-held, centuries-old distillation process. Each bottle includes an actual blade of grass from the famed Bialowieza Forest. The flavour is unique, and can be described as having vanilla, coconut and almond-like qualities.
